Marty Gatton: Station for what train line? IC? B&O?

Rod Sellers: Both ICRR and B & O RR used those tracks. A 1928 directory lists an ICRR Ticket Office at 3100 E. 91st Street.

Benito Herrera: I had heard that Metra wanted to buy out Sonny's but he supposedly wanted too much money for his place, and Metra later found out that they owned the railroad extending all the way to 93rd street and decided to skip Sonny's altogether. Therefore, he supposedly got too greedy and lost out on selling his building. Not sure if this story is true, and if it is, oh well.

Tony Velz: Did the ic and b&o cross the river at one time, the tracks look like it hooked up to the old jackknife bridge near the elevators.

Bob Lalich: The IC tracks ended at approximately 94th St, never went any farther. The B&O went east across the river as mentioned. This was their original main line into Chicago and was used by passenger and freight trains. South Chicago Yard was the principal Chicago freight yard for a period of time. The line was downgraded to a secondary line after the B&O gained control of the Chicago Terminal Transfer RR.
