Walter Jenny Jr.: Most people don't realize how big cotton was in Shawnee and elsewhere in Oklahoma a century or more ago. [A comment indicates the freight house was just north of the depot. The only thing left of the east/west Sante Fe route is a remnant that allows the UP/Rock Island to serve this flour mill.
It produces "over one million pounds of food products daily." [ShawneeMilling]
