Annandale, MN: Museum/SOO Depot

The depot and caboose are near the entrance of the Pioneer Park. There are several other preserved buildings and equipment such as a church, blacksmith shop, fire house, etc. in the park.

Tom Weber posted three photos with the comment: "Minnesota Pioneer Park in Annandale hosts Soo Line Caboose #24 built in 1886.  The active track just behind the caboose now belongs to the Canadian Pacific. The depot was built after the Minneapolis and Pacific Railroad (later becoming the Soo Line) brought rail service to Annandale in 1886."

This town has grown significantly since the 1950s. Based on this map, I would have guessed the location was in the northeast quadrant of Harrison Street and the tracks.

Fortunately, I got an aerial photo because my guess based on the topo map was wrong. It was east of Maple Avenue extrapolated.

The two levers on the left side by the window probably controlled train order signals. I checked Tom's photos above, they didn't preserve the corresponding train order signals.
