posted ten photos with the comment: "This is the Union Station in Leavenworth Kansas. Abandoned it was eventually acquired by the city and restored into a community center. A main line of the UP still runs along the river by the station ( no Amtrak unfortunately). In its day it was served by multiple lines including Missouri Pacific which had a freight house where the
Riverfront Landing Park now exists. In the pictures you can see the remaining bridge over a creek feeding the Missouri River, but also the bridge supports still in place along the banks of the creek for old lines leaving the station.
There was also a pivot bridge crossing the river. You can see where the bridge was on the Leavenworth side and if you look you can picture where the bridge would have been on the Missouri side. Lastly there is a picture looking west along Choctaw street where the tracks leading to the bridge would have been."
