Eau Claire, WI: UP/C&NW Depot and Interlocking Tower

Once again our C&NW archives would like your help in identifying the community that this CNW station served. We think that it is the back side of a well known station but we cannot think of the name. Can you help us? There is no photographer or date data to be found on the reverse of the photo which is held at our archives.

The SPV Map indicates the C&NW route was originally "CMO." Unfortunately, CMO is from their Appendix. This is one of very few mistakes I have found in their maps.

William Shapotkin posted seven photos with the comment: "Collecting/inheriting  slides in interesting, but sometimes frustrating as well. Here are  seven photos of a train station. There is no information as to which  station, which railroad (although I suspect C&NW), when or who took  the photos. I SUSPECT we are in Wisconsin, but really do not know and  have not been able to spot any signs that might direct me. Might anyone  be able to assist?"

In terms of the label "towerMain," I'm guessing this was a mainline control tower.
