Momence, IL: C&EI Coaling Tower and Depots

Richard Schroeder to all, most of the photos, especially the ones noted as Bob McQuowen, are from the C&EI HS Archives and furnished to allow the citizens of the Momence area see their railroad history.

Dave Durham Did the tracks on the right cross the street at one time?
Eric Berg Yes, and as recent as the 1990's. They went to a small elevator, which unfortunately I have no pictures of.

Eric Berg posted several photos of the depot with the comment: "Chicago & Eastern Illinois Momence depot pictures over the years, showing the original depot and the 2nd depot after the fire destroying the 1st one. Photo credits and dates posted if known." I included duplicated to maintain his order of presentation.
