| Andy Zukowski posted Illinois Central Railroad; Chicago & Alton Railroad in Normal, Illinois. 1912 Photo by C.R.Childs Everett Lueck: AT that time the depot was in the southeast quadrant of the crossing, with the interlocking tower in the southwest quadrant. When the new depot was built in the northwest quadrant, it incorporated the interlocking plant as well. |

| Andy Zukowski posted Gruber-Bloomer Switch Looking north along the Illinois Central's Gruber line in Normal, Illinois where the Bloomer line split off. The Gruber line continued all the way up to Freeport, Illinois. The Bloomer line angled it's way northeast and joined in with the Chicago main at Otto, Illinois. Both of these lines here are now bike trails. Date is 3/22/68. Photo by Barry Lennon |
