Because the tracks were elevated, the foundation near the tracks still exists as a retaining wall. (The building in the left background caught my eye. It is part of the
county courthouse complex.)
The depot is near the upper-left corner. I was not able to find the freight house. Given the hill in the background of the photo, it appears that the freight house was just south of the elevated track. Perhaps the freight house was removed between the 1900's and 1938.

7 [I've noticed before that the crane used for a wrecking ball was a Link-Belt. I wonder if they are built particularly well to slew a lot and handle lateral forces on the boom.] |
