In 1893 the bankrupt O&M line was sold to the Baltimore & Ohio Southwestern Railroad (a subsidiary of the B&O), and by 1900 it was fully part of the Baltimore & Ohio (B&O) Railroad .  Thereafter the Sumner station was officially a B&O depot on the St. Louis–Cincinnati mainline.  Under the B&O, the depot handled both freight and passenger service – the line was the first railroad to cross the Mississippi from the east – and Sumner’s depot saw regularly scheduled trains.
In 1973–1974 the B&O (through successor systems) merged into the Chessie System, and in 1987 Chessie became CSX Transportation .  From then until the late 2010s the tracks through Sumner were CSX’s Illinois Subdivision.  By the 2000s all passenger service on the line had ended (Amtrak did not serve Sumner), and the depot functioned only for freight and railroad business.  In August 2015 CSX formally “abandoned” the Illinois Subdivision west of Flora; however, the segment through Sumner remains in use for local CSX freight (the line is officially still CSX’s Illinois Subdivision)
Scott Nauert: No part of the Illinois Sub is officially abandoned. There's an out-of-service exemption in place from Caseyville to Flora.
Robert Chitwood: Google Earth shows it painted blue!

MP 208.2 Illinois Div; a few years later (2011) it was still there.

I had the wrong location. Thanks to Robert's comment, I found the correct location.
