Dalton, WI: Lost/C&NW Depot and Water Tower

(Satellite)

Chicago & North Western Historical Society posted
Now it's a photo of the C&NWE depot in Dalton, Wisconsin.  Tracks  still run through Dalton according to a Wisconsin highway map of 2020.  Dalton is located to the northwest of Beaver Dam, Wisconsin one line between Milwaukee and Clyman Junction on the way to Wyeville and Sparta, Wisconsin.
Drew Schultz: Double track still in place here and used as a passing siding. Track diverging to the right still serves local industry. Remains of the old coaling tower just out of frame to the right. Many Amish live around Dalton.
Kurt Schlieter: Dalton is on the Union Pacific mainline between Milwaukee and Minneapolis.
[Some comments indicate that C&NW merged with UP on Oct 1, 1995 and then UP closed the C&NW corporate office on Canal in Aug 1998.]
Chris Buckjaw Ooh: What are the smaller sheds in the background for?
Terry Stormoen: Chris Buckjaw Ooh Smaller building is Signal maintainer's motorcar shack, you can see the motorcar sitting on the setoff rails....I believe the larger shack was maintenance of way storage for tools , fuel and supplies.

Some of the foundation wall is still visible.

This map does mark the location of the depot, but with a square instead of a rectangle.
