It is not a good view, but it is good enough to confirm that I have found the correct building.

Darren Reynolds posted three photos with the comment:
Conrails ( Ex-PRR)"Pitt" towerPittsburgh, Pennsylvania
Darren Reynolds: Lamar Jenson the tower is now a police station.
Bill Burge: I was up there a few times working the Panhandle between Columbus to Pitcairn. Pretty impressive.
Reid Meyer: Quite active - though the bulk of the freight bypasses this stretch via either the Port Perry Bridge / fmr PV&C / fmr PCC&StL (along the Mon) and the fmr WPRR (along the Kiski and Allegheny). 2 daily Amtraks in each direction and quite a bit of local and low-level freight run through the station / past the tower daily.

3 A Penn Central switcher is setting in front of "Pitt" tower Photo & Date: Unknown |
Darren's first photo shows that the tower was jammed in between a hill and the tracks. And this topo map shows there is a big hill between the tracks and Bigelow Blvd. So I looked along that hill on a satellite image and found the tower.
