| Andy Zukowski posted Illinois Central Railroad Depot marked "Anna / Jonesboro" in Anna, Illinois~ Nov 8, 1938. Photo by Charles Medin Brad Craig: The Anna depot was still in good condition when the IC demolished it in 1969. I remember an Illinois Central Real Estate sign near it for several months. I guess the railroad gave up on trying to sell it and destroy it so they wouldn't have to pay taxes on a building they no longer used. The depot was built in the 1920s, so it wasn't that old when it was destroyed. Richard Fiedler shared |
