Basco, IL: Lost/CB&Q Depot

(Satellite, the treelines north and south of town show were the tracks were.)

Ted Fisk: Any information as to when the line was abandoned? As I always do, I look on Google Maps and it appears that the CBQ was a north south line, but there is very little evidence that a railroad ever existed there.

It was gone by 1974. The dashed line on this map is labeled OLD RAILROAD GRADE.   1974/78 West Point Quad @ 24,0000

It appears the depot was in the northeast quadrant of the tracks and the main east/west drag through town.
