Andy Zukowski posted Burlington Railroad Depot in Erie, Illinois. 1972 Thomas Whitt shared |
Dennis DeBruler commented on Andy's post that because about a block northeast of the depot we see the distinct shadow of the grain elevator that is in the background of the photo. |
Paul Schmidt commented on Thomas' share I was there working on the Denrock section in 1973 when B&B took it down. I kept a souvenir. |
The grain elevator did not grow as big as a typical Illinois grain elevator did.

Robert Daly posted Postcard of the Burlington station in Erie (IL not PA or Michigan or Colorado). There is a Lake Erie here that is not quite as big as the Great Lake. Jim Kelling shared Erie, Illinois (Burlington Route) |
Dennis DeBruler commented on Robert's post An Illinois depot scene complete with a grain elevator, milk cans and a house track. It was a little east of Albany Road. 1939 aerial photo |
This map depicts the depot and the house track, but it didn't have enough room for the grain elevator.
