"Moreno [Ohio US Senator] sent a letter to H.I.G. Capital, an investment firm that bought the mill in 2022, calling the decision to close the mill 'corporate greed'.....Ohio leaders now have less than eight months to figure out how to save a Chillicothe paper mill and the jobs of more than 800 people."
C.G. Tower: Ah yes...great strategy. Announce a closure, politicians get involved to figure out a way to save the day, company backs off saying "we'll take 8 months to figure it out and close at end of year", meanwhile back door deals are made, incentives offered, a new owner is found and Pixell makes a nice profit on the sale of the mill.
Almost as if this investment firm has done this before...
Lukas Irons: C.G. Tower ....their mill in stevens point Wisconsin just went to a company named ahlstrom

The rolls of paper are big.
ChillicotheGazette, Jess Grimm/Chillicothe Gazette

Rollers are used to squeeze out the water getting the paper down to 50% water and 50% fiber.
ChillicotheGazette, Jess Grimm/Chillicothe Gazette

It takes a big lathe to make those rolls.

Awesome shot. You’ve got to be pretty ballsy to shoot at this spot. This operation is difficult to get any decent shots of. This is the best I’ve ever gotten of it.
