Maeceline Mo. one plant.

Update: John Carson posted three photos with the comment:
NOW ABANDONED Pipeline Pumping Stations dot the landscape along the old AT&SF right-of-way across Illinois and Missouri. These pictures are of TWO different buildings in Marceline Mo. The first two shots are of a former pumping station which sits on the North side of E. Scott St, just West of Missouri Ave. in Marceline. There is still a large oil tank at this site, which is next to the Fan Factory. If you look at the location on Goggle Satellite, you can see where the other tanks were at one time. The third posted picture is the Hurtt Manufacturing Plant, which part of it was an old pumping station house. It is on the south side of E. Scott St. at the far west end. The first shown building has a couple of alike matching structures at LaRose Il. and Ransom Il.
I have posted some other abandoned stations before. What is interesting is that the the Pumping Stations in Ft. Madison Ia, Ponemah Il. Dahinda Il. Wilburn Il. and Kernan Il. are all of the same design and materials. They were all built in 1909 by Standard Oil Co. to pump oil to the Whiting Ind. refinery. Theses building being different design and materials, I am wondering whether it was a different pipeline or different company. There are other Pumping stations which were known to be Standard Oil that do not look like any of these. Time for some more research!?! Enjoy JCC [See Old Pipeline Pumping Stations for the results of that research.]
