Clear Lake, IA: 1968+1975 Big Wood Grain Elevator

The railroad is now owned by ICE.

If people around Clear Lake wanted to go East or West, they could take the Milwaukee, which ran through town. But if they wanted to go North or South, they would take an interurban shuttle to Mason City to catch a train on a north/south route.

I should have used the label "grainWood" instead of "grainOld" for elevators built with wood because this one is not old! I have been passing up wood grain elevators because there are quite a few of them still left. But when I saw this was built in the second half of the 20th Century, I wanted to note it.
