Chicago & Eastern Illinois (C & EI) Railroad Depot in Grape Creek, Illinois. The site is within the Township of Danville, located in Vermilion County. There were at onetime 5 coal mines in and nearby Grape Creek, and rail service was by the Chicago & Eastern Illinois (C & EI) railroad. C.1890’s

Mike Roegner: I think Illinois Traction also used this depot. That line ran southeast from Danville, crossed the Vermilion river and ended in Grape Creek. The old ROW is impossible to find because it went through an area that became the Highland landfill.

I included the Parish Cemetery on the right because it is extant on Google Maps. I went west and south of Grape Creek to include some strip mines along the C&EI.
