Feed Mill: (Satellite)
The CB&Q crossed the CGW on the north side of town, and that was the location of the CGW depot.
Andy Zukowski posted The Chicago, Burlington, & Quincy Railroad Depot in Holcomb, Illinois. 1911 Lance Wales: That train order signal has to be a darkroom fantasy. It isn’t at the operators bay to start with. And the need for 4 semaphores on a single track branch line seems extravagant. Yes I know the Chicago Great Western crossed the CB&Q there at Holcomb. There was a separate depot in the SW quadrant of the diamonds. It would appear this depot would have sat an 1/8 of a mile or so to the south of the CB&Q/CGW diamonds. David Hahn: Did the CGW have their own depot here? Steve Becker: BNSF in the modern world. Richard Fiedler shared |
Dennis DeBruler commented on David's comment Yes. As Lance stated, it was in the southwest quadrant of the crossing: https://maps.app.goo.gl/8mH7cJRqZUHvC2M9A. Photographer unknown. |
