I could not find the railroad on a 1902, 1944 nor 1957 topo map. That is very unusual.
William Niermann
posted three photos with the comment: "The beautiful and fully restored station of the Northern Central Railway in Monkton, Maryland, about 28 miles north of downtown Baltimore. Trains ran from Baltimore north to Harrisburg, PA, and points north for almost 140 years. In 1972 Hurricane Agnes devastated the line and destroyed many bridges and other structures. Today it is a beautiful trail and the historic Monkton station, built in the 1890’s, is the headquarters. It was nice that some of the old crossing signals, etc., were saved for nostalgic reasons."

I'm disturbed that I don't see an "exempt" sign on the post. It is a shame if school busses and hazardous material trucks still stop at this sign.
