It may be hard to believe but someone lives in the one in LaRose. I wanted to see it as well and a group of us pulled up to it. 2 guys came walking out in pajama pants to see what was going on. Good thing they liked old Army trucks because they gave us a tour.

Jon Martin commented on Roger's posting The one in Larose is a different pipeline and someone actually lives inside of the buildings. Pic shot from inside the building after we were asked if we wanted to see inside. |

Andy Zukowski posted Randall James: Was this on the St Louis-Chicago mainline ? or on the "Jack line" branch 🤔 I'm a huge Alton/GM&O fan/historian from another big GM&O company town, Jackson TN 👍 Bill Edrington: Randall James - Neither; it was on the Dwight Branch (Dwight to Washington, with a stub from Varna to Lacon). Dennis DeBruler commented on Andy's post The close grain elevator has survived the loss of rail service, but I think the wood elevator is a replacement, https://maps.app.goo.gl/arUWP6FhjJ4riSM98. |
I think the depot was on this side of the small building.

I got this higher-resolution aerial to confirm that the above small building was not the depot.
