The Salem Branch of the Frisco added 21 photos with the comment:
Sligo was a company town built to support a massive iron furnace on the bank of Crooked Creek in northern Dent County, Missouri. The furnace was in operation from 1881-1921. After the closure of Sligo Furnace Company in 1921, the town was almost entirely demolished. Very few original structures remain in the beautiful Sligo valley today. Here is a collection of the best Sligo pictures I’ve gotten ahold of. Some have been posted before, but I wanted to get them all onto one post! Enjoy!
