In addition to Pennsy's mainline between Chicago and the east coast, this depot sat on Pennsy's Vandalia branch between Logansport and South Bend. The Vandalia went north/south along the west side of the depot. The Vandalia branch was abandoned by Penn Central. The NKP route is now operated by Indiana Hi-Rail.
