Andy Zukowski posted The Gulf, Mobile & Ohio Depot in Whitehall, Illinois. 1972 David Partak: Originally C&A Springfield to Kansas City line, then GM&O, then ICG. Sold to investors forming Chicago, Missouri & Western, then when that folded up, another bunch of investors bought it and named it Gateway Western. And KCS bought that out for entry into Illinois. Then Canadian Pacific & KCS merged. Line has lots of business I hear. Richard Fiedler shared Michael North: An 1890 patented Union switch & signal co. semaphore signal stands in service. Richard Fiedler: Michael North the Alton installed those everywhere and most survived well past the ICG merger. We have a set from Elwood IL. Steven Hooker shared Steven Hooker shared again |
