Chicago & North Western Historical Society posted This time a postcard photographer went to Belvidere, Illinois and photographed C&NW action at the depot there in August 1909. A single track (locomotive facing the camera) still runs through this spot on the way to the "Chrysler" plant west of town. The line is the original G&CU line. Will METRA run trains through this spot in 2025-26? Aaron Grace: I think they said they expect service by 2027? |
Dennis DeBruler commented on the above post This 1953 aerial shows that the depot's land is now part of the YMCA land. https://maps.app.goo.gl/WSFJBmjXe5XHjmJk9 [AR1YI0000040093] |
