| James Torgeston posted An Inland Steel lake freighter, the 621' L.E. Block (1927), loads limestone at the Inland Steel quarry at Port Inland, MI. The quarry is still in operation, but is now owned by Carmeuse. The Block was scrapped in 2006 after sitting idle since late 1981. |
They have their own industrial railroad that connects the quarry, which is a few miles north of the lake, to the dock on the lake.
