Art LH posted four photos with the comment:
this is the old CB&Q station in Kearney Mo. it is now the local VFW
what use to be a through track is now a dead end servicing Kearney Feed.
the rail dates at 1913
Ross Warnell: Kearney was on the line connecting Kansas City to the line to Quincy and Chicago (The Hannibal & St Joseph) at Cameron, Missouri. It was replaced in 1952 by the "Centennial Cutoff" between Carrollton and Brookfield, Missouri. The H&StJ is abandoned west of Brookfield and the Centennial Cutoff downgraded to secondary status after the BNSF merger.
Mark Covey: All of the traffic to Kearney is for Ply Gem. The hoppers contain plastic pellets.

Ply Gem, the remaining customer for this branch, is just across Washington Street from the depot. They make vinyl building products such as siding, windows, fence, gutters, etc. That explains why they need so many plastic pellets.

Urban sprawl from Kansas City has swallowed this town. This is the first time that I have used the location of the depot to find the location of the downtown.

Because of Ply Gem, the house track still exists because it now helps serve that plant.

The town's grain elevator has become just an animal feed retail store.
