McLeansboro, Illinois: Passenger & Freight Station, Louisville & Nashville Railroad. L&N’s Passenger & Freight Station at McLeansboro was estimated to have been built in 1902. The photograph was taken on 3 June 1918.

David Cantrell: Thanks for posting this photo Andrew Andrew Waldo. First picture I've seen of the freight depot. This was located south of the electric plant along the Shawneetown branch of the L&N. The second passenger depot was located in this vicinity. There were a total of 4 different L&N passenger depots in McLeansboro.

All three "spokes" were L&N. Looking at a satellite map, the route south of the wye has been abandoned.

The 1937-47 aerial photos were not good. Fortunately, Illinois now has additional photos. In addition to the depot near the top, I included a\ grain elevator near the bottom.
