This tower was torn down too long ago to try to find its exact location. But the photo has so much history that it is worth noting anyhow. In addition to an octagon tower, this photo has semaphores and mechanical (armstrong) signal controls.

Metrotrails added Historic late 1880s view in Parkesburg Pennsylvania from the Ted Xaras Collection, showing the classic octagonal PRR tower style. Most of these would be replaced by 1906 with the completion of the Atglen and Susquehanna Branch, the freight bypass.
