Elevator: (Satellite)
Depot: (Satellite)
This is another example of a grain elevator on a shortline railroad getting rail service.
Daniel Peters posted 14 photos with the comment: "Peachey Bros Mill/Elevator at Burnett Wisconsin. Long time customer of the MILW and WSOR. Grain cars get loaded here, and inbound fertilizer gets unloaded. Oshkosh sub."
Mike Janke: They picked a spot to have 2 lines serving them.
[Some of the photos show that the elevator has at least two feed trucks.]

A remnant of the C&NW route on the left was retained to serve as a siding for the elevator. WSOR is willing to deliver a rather small cut of hoppers. I counted 22 hoppers in this cut.

Update:
Daniel Peters posted 18 photos with the comment: "Peachey Bros. Elevator and Feed mill in Burnett Wisconsin. This business was served by the MILW and CNW at one time. Now served by WSOR. The tracks for loading railcars are on the now abandoned CNW ROW. An awesome little rural town that hasn’t changed much in many many years!!❤️❤️❤️ They also supply coal for Soo Line 1003 steam locomotive!!"
William George: It is great to see a railroad still serving a rural elevator. In Texas, most of the small elevators have lost rail service. The siding for the elevator is out of service. In some cases, trucks have filled the void, but shipping costs are higher. Often, when rail service ends, the elevator closes. As an example, west of Amarillo, when the Rock Island shut down, numerous elevators closed. It is a stark reminder of the importance that rail service has on small communities.
Daniel Peters: William George The State of Wisconsin can be thanked for saving the former Milwaukee Road line that serves this elevator!! And for Bill Gardner for transforming the Wisconsin & Southern Railroad into what it is today!!
