Tipple: (
Satellite, they cleaned up rather well. I could not find evidence of a tipple)

The railroad was the CB&Q.
I kept finding more 674 blobs. I had to zoom out quite a ways to capture the extent of the Little Sister mining.
In fact, I had to download the quadrant to the north of St. David.
The Little Sister Mine was South and Northwest of St. David. It was south of Spoon River College, but I included it to help correlate this image with the topo map. The St. David, Saline County #22 and Big Creek #1 Mines were also in this area. What today are winding roads were the haul roads when the mine was active. The scale for this excerpt is 7/8" = 2000'.
I'm glad I looked at the ISGS topo maps because the ISGS map doesn't seem to be very accurate.

Square Grain Elevator
There must have been a contractor in northern Illinois that sold people on square grain elevators because that is the only place I have seen them.
