I have been taking pictures of nature, I've just been lazy about posting them.
I saw this egret through the tree line on the other side of the I&M Canal when I was driving north on access road after I took pictures of
Lock #2. I was going slow and there was NO other traffic, so it was easy to stop the van as soon as I saw it. I think I took this picture from inside the van.

Because, as I expected, as soon as I stepped out, it took off.
I ran a little upstream to get a better "window" in the treeline. It is just above the water in this shot. I'm glad I caught it with the wings up or else the wings would have been hidden by the growth in the foreground.
