John Yoder: What is the tower on the left?

Dennis DeBruler replied to John's question
A grain elevator. We are looking North. The depot was in the middle of the block between Lincoln and Seminary. There still is a grain elevator on the west side of the RoW in the next block north.

John Yoder: Dennis DeBruler to the left of the elevator,
Dennis DeBruler: John Yoder Given the date of 1915, probably a watchman tower for controlling crossing gates on Lincoln. He might also control the Seminary crossing.

A wonderful real photo postcard of our IL Central RR Depot taken July 11th, 1911. Did you catch a train from our depot?
[To summarize the comments, in the 50s it was a flag stop. In the 60s they had to go to Gilman. Later, they had to go to Kankakee.]
