USS John Paul Jones (DDG 53) Arleigh Burke-class Flight I guided missile destroyer in drydock at Vigor Shipyard in Seattle, Washington - November 22, 2022
[Given that Vigor Shipyards is an office building in Bremerton, I thought they worked in the drydocks of the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard. But then I found this Vigor facility in Seattle.]

Given the cranes in the Facebook photo, I took a closer look at the three drydocks. They do have cranes on the walls of two of the drydocks as well as on the adjacent piers.

Smith Cove

Haze Grey History posted
An uncommon view: a fast battleship in Seattle proper in the 1950s! This view, while not the best quality, shows USS Missouri (BB-63) at historic Pier 91 in Smith's Cove in 1954. While the Navy has since left the cove, located at the northern end of Elliott Bay, it had a presence there dating back to 1941 when the piers, originally numbered 40 and 41, were taken over by the navy and the Port of Seattle compensated for the seizure. The USN's Smith Cove depot closed in 1970, supplanted by newer facilities in Bremerton across the bay. When seized by the Navy in 1941, Pier 41, which became Pier 91 in this photo, was the largest pier on the west coast - apparently perfect for making 887'-long battleships look relatively moderate in size (conversely, compare Missouri to the ships at Pier 90 to the left). The Coast Guard Station, now at the opposite end of the sound, was originally in Smith Cove as well until 1973. The port eventually re-purchased the facilities in 1974. This photo was taken by a Post Intelligencer photographer and is © University of Washington Libraries, from the Museum of History & Industry.
Anthony Gesuele: I was stationed in the USS Conquest MSO 488 from '91-'93 we were homeported at pier 91 in Seattle WA.
We were one of two Minesweepers at pier 91 and two were out of navy reserve station Tacoma.
