Lewiston, ID: Camas Prairie/Northern Pacific Depot and Roundhouse

Depot: (Satellite)
Roundhouse: (Satellite, just the turntable and some tracks)

That must have been a prosperous town because that strikes me as quite a few cars for 1909.

The NP Lewiston, Idaho depot in 1909. A great photo of the transition from horses to automobiles.

A topo map shows that the depot was across the street from the courthouse. That map indicates the railroad was Camas Prairie and that it was used by NP and UP.

In fact, it still exists. Google Maps labels it "National Register: Lewiston Depot."

Paul Tuner posted two photos with the comment: "CPR Round House and Rotary snowplow. Lewiston, Id."
Tony Bologna: Sorry in advance. New guy here. What does CPR stand for and is the round house still in Lewiston?
Chris Atkins: Tony Bologna officially, Canadian Pacific Railway… but I suspect Paul Turner is referring to the Camas Prairie, which had CSP reporting marks.
Aj Mee: As far as i know, the roundhouse was destroyed by a fire and the remains had a cable wrapped around it and was pulled down with a locomotive [in 1985].
