The Ogle County Historical Society
posted five photos with the comment: "At one time in the late 1800s early 1900s, Lindenwood was the last stop before the Chicago Stock yards, where the carloads of sheep had to be unloaded so the animals could get off the train and graze for a day or two before going to market. Sheep sheering barns were located on the south side of the track, where the wool was collected and then shipped overseas to the mills in England."
