| Thomas R Kennedy posted Thought you might be interest in a different strip mine machine built by a German company and assembled for the Peabody Coal mine in Braidwood, Illinois. Rick Degler: We tore it down in 1972 move it to pit 6 from Northern mine. Pete Craddock: They moved it down to River King mine in 1972 and 73 south of the Randolph prep plant. We called it the Krup wheel. It worked in the same arra as the 3850. Patrick Dickey: Hitler's revenge is what my father called it!!!! Guy Kasper: Pete Craddock I was on the construction crew ,, Blue prints were in German and we found parts by pictures up on the hill.. they didn't buy metric bolts to put back together we had to ream holes out to SAE bolts ..
