Marseilles, IL: Middle East Conflicts Wall Memorial

Just downstream from the Illinois River bridge in Marseilles, IL, is the Middle East Conflicts Wall Memorial. It is on the river edge of the parking lot for the headquarters of Illinois Valley Cellular, which donated the land and maintains a museum in their headquarters building. ABC News produced a video describing the memorial and the Illinois Motorcycle Freedom Run.

The entrance to the parking lot is well marked.

It was hard getting an overview picture.

A closeup of the front-and-center wall.

A view upstream from the back of the memorial to provide context for the location.

The June 21st, 2014, Illinois Freedom Run was the tenth anniversary of the memorial and a celebration of an expansion of the memorial that included a 9/11 artifact of a Pentagon block that was delivered April 19. In a Facebook posting, Denise Rodgers made her photographs available for free download provided she is acknowledged and that no alterations are made.
