Former NKP, Fairport, Painesville & Eastern, Ashtabula Carson & Jefferson S2 parked at the end of the line in Jefferson Ohio.
A comment provides a 1989 video. The video's comment: "Ashtabula, Carson & Jefferson Alco S-2 #107, ex-Fairport, Painesville & Eastern 107, nee' Nickel Plate Road 45." The audio track is interesting. It gives a whole new meaning to the word "chugging."
Evidently the track, as well as the engine, used to be part of the Nickle Plate. NS uses the mainline across Indiana. Did it sell parts of it in Ohio? Or did the Cloverleaf go east of Toledo? That question goes on the research list.
