BRHS posted The Elgin, Joliet & Eastern depot at Plainfield - March 27th, 1976. The EJ&E had passenger trains that stopped in Plainfield when this built, so it did have a passenger waiting room. It is now part of a little EJ&E museum. The building was closed when I visited.

I went down to the railroad crossing to get a picture with the RoW included.
Even though it was in the afternoon shade, I took a picture of the side with the bay window for the agent's desk.
