An addendum to REMEMBERING CLIFF cix: Exterior and interior photos of NA tower at Ivorydale Jct. in Cincinnati, March 18, 1978. The tower closed in 1995. Much of the Big Four was abandoned in favor of the ex-PRR route. My photos.

David L White Went by it many times but was only up in the tower once. I don't understand the poster's comments, however, about the Big Four vs. the PRR abandonment, since it's at a point where the Big Four joined the B&O and the Big Four is still intact and used to London, OH, and the PRR route was abandoned from London, OH, all the way to the east side of Cincinnati.

John Flanigan IV: One of several NA towers across the system. Martinsburg, WV and Baltimore both had NA towers as well.

Karen Adams: Back in the early 80s we used to go up on the Chillicothe Division main east of NA Tower to get coal trains going to Citizens Gas & Coke in Indianapolis,Indiana that the NS would deliver we would have to back down past NA Tower and on past Winton Place to access the Toledo Division and then go north the grade on the Chillicothe Division east of NA Tower all the way to Winton Place was very steep so you had to have the conductor ride the shove to Winton Place to protect the shove thur both NA Interlocking and Winton Place Interlocking so that they could monitor the signals and advise the engineer of the aspects so there were no collisions or signal violations.
