Otis, IN: Junction Tower: NYC vs. Monon

Ken Durkel posted
Otis, Indiana. Eastbound NYC. Tower protected the NYC/Monon Michigan City Branch crossing. The tower closed in 1959, and the crossing was automated. This was a one time helper district on the Water Level Route. M.D. McCarter photo.
Ray Peacock Set of X/overs there too.
Wayne Hudak Looks like a short mail/xpress train... running a clean stack!
[Crossover turnouts would explain why there are so many signalling rods.]

You can see the tree line north of the NYC tracks that was probably the Monon route. It is easy to see a tree line south of I-80 as well. It is rather hard to follow a tree line through a forest :-) Following it south, it went on the west side of Westville, through Wanatah, on the west side of LaCrosse, but then I loose it south of Wilders.
