Bill Edrington In the distance are the westbound home signal and interlocking tower at the crossing of the B&O line from Beardstown to Shawneetown.
Jacob Hortenstine I have never found a photo of the tower
Mark Egebrecht Did the b&o and NYC cross here?
Steven Johnston Yes. B&O crossed over the NYC and ran parallel to Pana. At Pana B&O went northwest and NYC southwest.
Steven's comment explains why I see two treelines on the east side of town, but only one on the west side of town.

You can clearly see that the B&O went through town on the south side then crossed the Big Four west of Seneca Street and left town on the north side. This is an error in the 2005 SPV Map because it shows PARY/BO is on the south side between Tower Hill and Pana.

B&O NYC Tower Hill Illinois
Jacob Hortenstine Bill Edrington here is the telegraph office at the B&O NYC crossing Tower Hill as that one photo of the NYC depot shows it was replaced with a two story interlock tower but I have yet to find a photo of the towerBill Edrington Jacob Hortenstine - Thanks for posting this. I knew I had seen this photo somewhere before, but I couldn't find it anywhere online. I think this was probably the original "tower" at Tower Hill. The two railroads obviously crossed right behind this building, and there is a train order signal on the Big Four side. The blades of the order board appear to indicate that the operator has orders for trains in both directions. I've never seen a photo of the later tower either, except for the fact that it is somewhat visible in the background of the Big Four depot photo you posted yesterday.
[I believe the "yesterday" photo is the one I have at the top of this page.]
