Bill Edrington I don't have any photos, but I remember it. This view looks toward Tower Hill and Pana on the B&O. The B&O depot is in the distance, on the right side of the tracks across from the elevator.
Roger G. Perkins Mr. Cowden was influential in getting the railroad which became B&O to commit to that route; as I understand he gave the railroad land. South of Cowden at Beecher City, if the railroad would have followed a straight line, it would not have passed through Mr. Cowden's farmstead.
Gregg Wolfersheim The B&O line was run by the Prairie Trunk Railway (PARY). Flora to Shawneetown from 1980 to 1984. The line north of Flora to Springfield was added in 1983. Due to the poor condition of the tracks, service was embargoed on the whole line in May of 1984.

The NKP/Cloverleaf did street running on Randolf between Cowden and 5th. The depots have already been documented.

[After the B&O route was abandoned, a new elevator was built west of town so that this one could be torn down for new buildings along Grand Street.]
