Andy Zukowski posted Rock Island Railroad Depot in Cambridge, Illinois. 1975 [Not only is there an old grain elevator, it looks like there are tanks of farm support chemicals in the right background.] |
They moved the depot a block wast and restored it. (The building on the right)

Marvin McGill Jr. commented on Andy's post Roger Gradert: Marvin McGill Jr. The depot has been moved west of original '75 location and on opposite side of tracks. |

Dennis DeBruler commented on Roger's comment Thanks for the headsup about the depot being moved because I found it located a block east of its current location. It was just west of Ridge Street and about halfway between Railroad and Depot Streets. (Ridge Street is along the right side of this late 1930s photo. I would have used the photo to the east of this one, but it was not digitized by the state.) Given the old grain elevator in Andy's photo, we are looking Southeast. (Old grain elevators generally have a shadow with a pointed top.) |
