Gary Miller posted Lone tower in Jeffersonville, IN. PRR and B&O RR. It was X tower for the B&O and they operated it. |
The comments on the posting imply the tower still stands. But I can't find the tower, or trees, in satellite images. The diamond is gone because the southwest track of the CSX/B&O route has been removed even though the 2005 SPV Map shows it still existed in 2005. The Bing Birds-Eye View agrees the line has been torn up.
The north/south route was the Pennsy. CSX sold it to Louisville and Indiana Railroad. They now realize that was a mistake and are paying to upgrade the L&I so that they can run their trains on that route as well.

Dennis DeBruler commented on the source A plaque in the video at 1:18 says this was a Pennsy depot that was moved. I can't figure out where the original location was. Did the B&O share this depot? |
The station marked in this topo (satellite) had to be for the Big Four railroad.
