| Andrew Waldo posted Today we begin a photographic move from northeast to northwest Alabama with a pic from the Nashville, Chattanooga & St Louis Railroad Engineering Field Notes. Pictured here is one of NC&StL's beautifully designed signal towers. This one is at Bass, Alabama. The Field Notes team's speeder is on the tracks, two members waiting while the other two take measurements of the tower before they all move on to the next stop. The tower was built in 1887 and photographed on 17 June 1916.
