The Ogle County Historical Society posted three images with the comment: "Myrtle Illinois is near the northwestern border of Ogle County and one of the last stops on the Chicago Great Western in the county. There was a stop at Egan, but I haven't found any pictures of the depot there."
Jay Waugh: The Egan terminal is where Egan Rd and Leaf River Rd meet. What is left of it is in the woods. There is a railroad bridge still in the field to the right side of Leaf River Rd. It sits in a field on private property. When they finally pulled up the tracks the farmer asked them to leave the limestone bridge.
