Interurban Depot in Fithian, Illinois.
Constructed in 1913 as a Depot and electric substation for the Illinois Terminal System (known after 1937 as the Illinois Terminal Railroad), this is one of the few remaining Interurban depots to be found on the Illinois prairie.
The interurban line ran three-car trains between Springfield and Danville, and was the only interurban line in the country operating sleeping cars. The structure is now a private residence.
Interurban service on the TR was reduced after WWIl, and ended altogether in 1956. (The ITR's freight operations continued until 1982, when it was absorbed by the Norfolk & Western Railroad.)

The IT tracks were between the Big Four/Peoria & Eastern tracks and the road.

It is common with postcards to see different colorizations because they are painted by artists, but this is the first time I've seen it with a photo.

This is a photo is of the Peoria and Eastern depot in Fithian,IL.  My understanding is this station is a home now.
[We can see the IT station in the right background.]

William Shapotkin: No, this building has been completely demolished. The Illinois Terminal substation/depot (located to the south of the P&E trks) is what has been restored and is now a private home.

The P&E depot was long ago demolished – I'd say some time in the Seventies.
The Illinois Terminal depot and substation is very much alive, and is now a private residence. I captured the attached image of the Illinois Traction structure in 2022.
William Shapotkin: Jon Roma and what is really amazing about the IT depot/substation is that there have been additions to the south (as well as a garage). While a close look reveals that they are indeed additions, the materials match the original building very very well. I was IMPRESSED.

The grain elevator was across the tracks from the P&E depot.

Square Grain Elevator

Fithian, IL. area. A strange structure. Is it an elevator of some kind or something else. Hoping someone in the group knows.

Tim Ayers commented on Michael's post
I'm a grain inspector who lives just west of there, stopped to take a look once coming back from work and got to talk to the owner who's had it for an incredibly long time. Got to take a peek in the basement, the leg drive motor and leg are both intact. Wood floor section of the truck pit is decrepit but still there, along with the exposed power switches for the facility. Should be a rail or truck spout on the outside facing northeast side.

Michael commented on Tim's comment

The grain elevator in the background of the above photo is what allowed me to finally locate this elevator. That elevator is on the right side of this view.

And this is a view of that elevator.

And Michael also took a photo of that elevator.
