In 1899, the Northern Pacific arrived in Hoquiam, Washington, in Grays Harbor County.  They built a nice depot there in 1914, which served passengers until 1955 and freight runs until 1981.  Fortunately, the depot was preserved and restored and now serves as a Department of Motor Vehicles office.  The rail line next to the depot is still there and is used by the Puget Sound and Pacific Railroad.  Photo by Robert A. Monte Dodge: Worked the afternoon switcher there in late 1980 , We still weighed cars , went out to the horn over bridge 3.2 to switch the plywood mill , Had a clerk Gene Cummings , Steve Carter , even a roundhouse with a former man and two workers .

This topo map made it easy to find the depot.
